Investigation of the effect of etoposide and vincristine on cisplatin-resistant and sensitive MDA-MB-231 cell lines

Today, cancer is a disease in which many kinds of research are done and new treatment methods are being studied. Cancer, which is tried to be treated with various methods, has many types and often results in a poor prognosis. Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women. It can grow in milk ducts and external lobules and spread to other tissues and organs by metastasizing. Although breast cancer is perceived as having a single morphology, breast cancer morphologies can vary according to patient individuals; Environmental and biological factors shape its course. Vincristine is a drug known as belonging to the group of vinca alkaloids. This drug affects microtubule polymerization and blocks cell growth by stopping mitosis. Etoposide is a topoisomerase II inhibitor. Etoposide can induce cell cycle arrest in the late S phase and early G2 phase and is known in the literature as a semi-synthetic derivative of podophyllotoxin. In this thesis, the cytotoxic and metastatic, morphological and molecular effects of Etoposide and Vincristine on cisplatin-sensitive triple-negative breast cancer cells (MDA-MB-231/sensitive) and resistant triple-negative breast cancer cells (MDA-MB-231/Cisplatin resistant) were investigated. Investigating the synergistic cytotoxicity and metastatic effects of vincristine and etoposide, both separately and together, has become a preliminary study for further studies
