Abstract (EN)
Systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS); It is expressed as the whole of the hematological and immunological responses of the living thing due to reasons that are contaminated or not contaminated with the microorganism. This study was conducted to reveal the importance of serum levels of Procalcitonin (PCT), Serum Amyloid A (SAA), Thrombomodulin (TM) and D-Dimer (DM) in the diagnosis of SIRS and sepsis and their relationship with mortality in cats with systemic inflammatory response syndrome. A total of 70 cats were used in the study according to SIRS and qSOFA criteria. Cats were divided into two groups as SIRS (n:50) and healthy control (n:20). Cats with SIRS were also grouped as dead and living cats. PCT, SAA, TM and DM analyzes were measured in an autoanalyzer with cat specific ELISA test. Serum PCT (p<0.01), SAA (p<0.01), TM (p<0.01) and DM (p<0.01) levels were found to be significantly higher in cats with SIRS compared to the control group. . In addition, PCT (p<0.01), SAA (p<0.01), TM (p<0.01), DM (p<0.01) values were statistically significant and high in the deceased cat group compared to the control group. determined. ROC curve analysis revealed that PCT had the highest discriminative potential (AUC 0.94) in identifying the SIRS group when compared with SAA, TM, and DM. Compared with PCT, SAA, TM, DM was found to have the highest potential to predict death (AUC 0.86). As a result, it was concluded that PCT, SAA, TM and DM levels can be used for diagnostic purposes in cats with SIRS. It was evaluated that advanced studies on the subject in more animals should be done. Keywords: Cat, SIRS, Sepsis, Procalcitonin, Serum Amyloid A, Thrombomodulin, D-Dimer.
