Abstract (EN)

Cardiovascular complications are the most important mortality cause in late period of systemic lupus erythematosus. We aimed to search that if tissue doppler echocardiography is more usefull to show cardiovascular complications of SLE than standard echocardiography. 24 female (%92) and 2 male (%8) child with SLE treated at the Department of Pediatric Nephrology Akdeniz University Medical Faculty were evaluated sectionally. The mean age of patients was 15,12±3,08 and mean follow-up period was 33,58±22,42 months. The controle group contained 1 male (%5) and 18 female (%95) healty child with a mean age 14,11±2,54 years. Age and gender values were similar between groups. In SLE, left and right IVRT, IVCT and Tei index were founded increased. When the age increased at diagnosis, cardiovascular complications increased too. Neuropsychiatric SLE had severe cardiac manifestations. In conclusion, diastolic functions were effected globally in SLE. The tissue doppler echocardiography might be usefull to obtain cardiovascular complications of SLE.
