Abstract (EN)
TThis study examines the relation of demographic variables, locus of control, political skills and burnout levels of non-governmental organization workers who are working in refugee support offices. The population of the research consists of 143 refugee support offices workers, who participated voluntary, working in Istanbul and the data was collected by means of survey. Demographic information form was prepared by the researcher. Locus of Control Scale which was developed by Dag, Political Skill Inventory which was adopted to Turkish by Ozdemir and Goren and Burnout Measure- Short Version which was adopted to Turkish by Capri were used as measures. Frequency and percent calculations were done to determine demographic information of the participants. In the research, One-Way ANOVA and Independent Samples t-Test were implemented in order to analyze relationships within the research problem. Post-Hoc test was done in order to determine which spesific groups differed in significant relationships. To determine the relationships between sub-dimensions of locus of control and political skills with burnout, Pearson Correlation Analysis was used. Multiple Linear Regression Test was used to verify whether sub-dimensions which have significant correlations and demographic variables which have significant difference are predictors of burnout. Findings of the study showed that there is a significant difference on the demographic variables of gender and effect of the work to worker's private lives. It was found that there was a positive, low and significant relationship between locus of control and burnout. Also, the relationship between political skills and burnout was found negative, low and significant.
