Abstract (EN)

The main goal of this thesis work is love and commitment. Because; love has been tried to be defined since the beginning of history. It is a feeling, a passion that varies from person to person. When has been asked "what is love?", there is no clear answer or solution. People try to describe and define the consept of love throughout their lives. Since the beginning of literature and art history; love has been an endless source and subject for poems, novels and scenarios. Cemal Süreyya, in his work called Balzamin; he explains that love has a childish aspect and also is an endless search with the following lines. Sigmund Freud, who had worked on psychoanalytic theory, describes love as a derivative of sexual instinct by saying "There is no such thing as love, there is only libido". Jacques Lacan also describes love with these words; "Love is giving something you don't have to someone who doesn't want it". Humanity has been emphasizing this for many years. Novels and poems were written about love. Along with love, besides all the beautiful emotions that people experience, feelings of separation, sadnesd and sorrow are also examined. When it comes to love, of course loyalty comes to mind. Throughout history, people have loved, fallen in love, thus seeking loyalty in love. In this short film, Sevinç, a young woman, was deceived by her boyfriend, Suat. Sevinç decided with great error that all men are the same. She started to avenge the injustice of one man from all men. Sevinç describes the love and separation pain she gives men, as killing. In fact, being abandoned is often a pre-death. Being unfair in love is already pre-death. This pre-death is described in this movie with the black umbrella metaphor. The issue of love and deception is a problem of humanity, but in this movie the event is reduced to individual lives. When Sevinç was deceived by Suat, whom she was madly in love with, she turns into a deceptive love butcher, a revenge machine. Key Words: Death, Revenge, Umbrella, Love
