Abstract (EN)
The Agora of Smyrna terra sigillata found in studies conducted between 2000-2005 and the late Roman red slip wares are covered in the study. 643 sherds were evaluated in the study.Northern Syria and the Eastern Mediterranean started the mid-second century BC. to be produced in a ceramic is a group of circles. Terra sigillata wares production continued until the 3rd century.Terra Sigilata ceramic group is divided into two main groups, including East and West. Eastern sigillata group are divided into three species (ESA, ESB, ESC). Western sigillata group are divided into two main species (Italian and Gaul). Smyrna productions except in studies of these species have also seen. Sigillata found in the Smyrna Agora dated mostly 2nd AD.Late Roman red slip pottery first North Africa as an alternative to the terra sigillata ware began to be produced in the 1st AD. Within this group of western Anatolia in Phocaea ceramics began to be produced late 4th AD. Late Roman red slip pottery production continued until the first half seven century. The city of Smyrna, intensive studies was produced in late Roman red slip pottery.Key words: terra sigillata, roulette band, double dipping, red slip, concentric circle, stamp decoration.
