Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to investigate whether there is a meaningful difference in the lev-els of empathic skill, anger expression and anger expression styles among class teachers and branch teachers working in primary and secondary schools. In addition, the relation-ship between demographic variables, empathic skill level and anger expression style was examined. The sampling of the research constitutes 200 teachers, including 99 class teach-ers and 101 branch teachers who were randomly selected from the public primary and secondary schools in some districts of Istanbul in the academic year of 2017-2018. The Personal Information Form, the Trait Anger and Anger Expression Style Scale and the Empathic Skill Scale (B-Form) were used by the researcher to collect data. Data col-lected from the participants were analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 package program. When the findings obtained from the analysis of the data were examined, it was found that the branch teachers have higher empathic skills than the class teachers and the perma-nent teachers were higher than the paid teachers. Teachers who defined themselves as introverted turned out to have higher inward anger means than the extrovert ones. Ac-cording to the marital status and gender variables, the level of empathic skill, the level of anger and the way of expression of anger are not differentiated. By examining the rela-tionships between dependent variables, it was found that the level of anger decreased as empathic skill level increased. Findings obtained from the research were discussed on the basis of the related literature and suggestions were made.
