Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this research study is to investigate the empathic tendencies of classroom teachers according to some certain variables.The pattern of this research has been formed by the teachers (150) working at primary schools, in 2011-2012 Education Year in the province of İstanbul and the district Beşiktaş.Personal İnformation Form and Empathic Tendency Scale is used in the research. The data is analyzed with the SPSS 18. 0 statistical packet program. Frequency and percentage distributions, Mann-Whitney U Test, Kruskall-Wallis H test, Scheffe test, One ?Way Analysis of Variance have been used to analyse the obtained data. 0. 05 has been used as significance level, it is emphasized equal variance in the case of p<0. 05 and it is unequal variance in the case of p>0. 05.As the result of this analysis, it?s determined that there?s a meaningful relationship between the empathic tendency levels of class teachers and their gender, age, the condition of willing to be a class teacher and the condition of satisfaction for being a class teacher. Results show that civil status, educational status, Professional experience end the education of the relationship between the teacher and the student have no statistically significant effect on the empathic tendencies of primary school classroom teachers.Key Words: empathy, primary education, class teachers
