Primary class teachers' usage of instructional materials in science and technology lesson and their affects on academic achievement, students' attitude towards the lesson and their learning strategies

Özet (EN)

The goal of this research is examining the usage of instructional materials and examining effect on students? achievement in science, their attitude toward science lessons and strategical usage of these materials which are based on teaching methods. The research is made by participation of 113 numbers of primary students from the 5th grade in science and technology lessons. The study makes use of pretestposttest control groups and experimental research modal; education has been planned by experiment group that supported by interactive CD, PowerPoint presentation and transparent paper of overhead which are prepared in classroom and computer laboratory. Data of the research was collected by Academic Achievement Test, Attitude Testing in Science and Technology Lesson and Learning Strategy Scale. In the analysis of the data, SPSS 11.0 statistic programme is used arithmetic mean, standard deviation, t test analyses (for repeated groups), variance table and scheffé test. At the end of the study, it is acknowledged that; 1) The usage of instructional material has influence on the students? science achievement. 2) The usage of instructional material has positive affects on the students? attitudes towards the lesson which is science and technology. 3) The usage of instructional material isn?t meaningful affect for student learning strategies.
