Abstract (EN)

This dissertation is about problems that form teachers are confronted by teaching the subjects reading and writing at basic primary schools. Therefor the qualitatives of the teachers like sex, age, profession priority, graduation, experiences in primary schools, prefered methods in teaching, participation in courses and research of development were analysed to see if there is a connection between the problems. An example of the study was made at fifteen basic primary schools in Istanbul´s district, called Bahcelievler, in the school years 2006- 2007. Therefor 102 first form form teachers were interviewed. The study has two parts. The first part concerns about the subjectsreading and writing in general. The second part discusses the survey that pupils, parents and teachers participate in. The questions are about programs, the school and the enviroment of the school.One of the achievements of the study is that there is a connection between the problems and the sex of the teachers, profession priority, graduation, research of development and there is also a connection between the problems and the prefered methods of teaching.The other qualitatives did not show any connections to the problems.
