Evaluation of mathematics teaching process used by primary school teachers according to application principles of the program

This study; it was prepared to determine the compliance of primary school teachers' mathematics lesson teaching processes with the application principles of the 2018 mathematics lesson curriculum. It is hoped that this study will be used as a guiding reflection tool for primary school teachers in mathematics lessons, and that this study will help teachers gain awareness of the missing and sufficient aspects of the program. To shed light on the importance of considering the development of the program and the development of teachers' competencies for the principles of practice as a whole in the success of the developed program; it is thought that it will be a guide for researchers to conduct research on the basic principles in the implementation processes. Qualitative research method was used in this study. As a data collection tool, an observation form prepared by the researcher by paying attention to the application principles of the mathematics teaching program was used. In order to support the findings obtained as a result of the observation, a semi-structured interview form prepared by the researcher considering the application principles of the mathematics curriculum was used. The data obtained as a result of observations and interviews were analyzed using descriptive analysis method. While determining the sample of the research, easily accessible case sampling, one of the purposive sampling methods, was used. The sample of this research is Şanlıurfa/Siverek Yavuz Selim Primary School 4th grade teachers. When the findings obtained from the research are examined, it is seen that the primary school teachers generally do not have a good grasp of the application principles in the mathematics curriculum and they do not give sufficient place to these principles in their lessons.
