Abstract (EN)
Main aim of this study is to determine intended attittudes and self-sufficiencies of class teachers in city of Kırsehir to creative drama and their views related with using creative drama method under the scope of life science lesson. There search was conducted on totally 101 class teachers in primary schools located in central district of Kırşehir province. In this study creative drama attitude scale (CDAS) developed by Okvuran (2000) and self-sufficiency perception scale related with using creative drama developed by Can and Canturk-Gunhan (2009) was used to measure the attitudes of class teachers towards creative drama. The qualitative data of there search were formed as a result of determination of teachers' views related with using creative drama method. According to research findings, majority of class teachers use creative drama in life science lessons and believe that creative drama eases learning. Class teachers developed mid-range positive attitude aimed to use creative drama. Also class teachers consider themselves mid-range sufficient about applying creative drama method in their lessons. Class teachers mostly use game techniques such as playing, animation making, and role playing while applying creative drama method. Class teachers mentioned about problems such as insufficient class population, insufficient time and place and inability of students to participate to the activities while applying creative drama method during life science lesson. Majority of class teachers mentioned that they did not receive any in service training or course related with creative drama and that they are eager to take an in-service training or course. The self-sufficiency perceptions of class teachers do not significantly vary according to duty periods, classes they give education, in ages and graduation levels. Besides attitude perceptions of class teachers do not significantly vary according to duty periods, classes they give education in, ages and graduation levels. There is a positively significant relation between attitude perceptions and self-sufficiency perceptions of class teachers.
