Veiws of preservice teachers at the department of primary school teaching upon professional ethics and the styles of solving professional ethic dilemma

The aim of this study is to determine the views of preservice teachers at the Department of Primary School Teaching upon professional ethics and the styles of solving professional dilemma. 228 third and fourth year students from Abant Izzet Baysal University Faculty of Education voluntarily participated in this study. Quantitative data was obtained by means of ?Teachers? Ethic Survey?, which was used in an articles entitled ?Ethic Behaviours of Teachers? written by Prof. Dr. Dilek GÖZÜTEK and adapted by Assist. Prof. Dr. Faruk ÖZTÜRK and the researcher. Qualitative data was obtained in the light ethic principles which were developed by ethic community of New York and Minnesota. The data obtained in the light of the objectives of the study was analyzed by means of SPSS 12.0 (Statistical Package for The Social Sciences) with statistical techniques which are appropriate the characteristics of the study. During the analysis of the data t-test, frequency, percentage, avaerage, levene statistics, one way variance analysis (ANOVA) were used. iv At the end of the study, it was found that; 1. In the scope of research, significant difference in thinking level about professional ethic among the students who is the member of different sex is determined. 2. In the scope of research, not too much thinking level difference in professional ethic between students who is the member of differant age group is determined. 3. In the scope of research, considerable professional ethic points between students whose mothers have different education level is determined. 4. In the scope of research, not too much professional ethic points between students whose fathers have different education level is determined. 5. In the research, it is determined that there is a harmonious relationship between students? answers to ethical dilemmas and students? sex distrubution. 6. In the research, it is determined that there is a harmonious relationship between students? answers to ethical dilemmas and students? political attitude distrubution. v 7.
