The opinion of primary school teaching program 4. grade students about multigrade classes: Sample of Gazi University

This research purposes to illustrate how the primary school teacher candidates are thinking about multigrade classes. The research is important because these teacher candidates may be a teacher in the multigrade classes in future. It is very important to point out their attention about multigrade classes.The senior students who are studying in the Primary School Education Program at Gazi University have consisted of the area of this research. The research purposes to attain all aforementioned students. In representing of area, the researcher could reach to 239 senior students.In this research, opinions of teacher candidates related to the problems of multigrade classes and solutions about them, advantage of multigrade classes, quality of ``Instruction in Multigrade Classes?? subject, quality of teachers of multigrade classes and applying the same program in multigrade and regular classes were exposed and evaluated.In this research, both qualitative and quantitative research methods have been applied. Researcher carried out a survey which has been improved by researcher to 202 teacher candidates. These data have been processed by frequency and percentage tests and commented by researcher. The researcher has interviewed with the other 37 teacher candidates. These data have been presented by descriptive method.Teacher candidates have determined the biggest problem of multigrade classes as ``distracting the attention?? and the solution of this problem is ``Multigrade classes teachers need to make plan and program for their lessons.?? According to the teacher candidates, the most important advantage of multigrade classes is ``Ensure to continue of education in rural areas?? and finally the best educational advantage of multigrade classes is ``the students obtain the habits of studying individually.?? Teacher candidates have negative opinions about applying the same program in multigrade and regular classes. They recommended preparing a new instructional program for multigrade classes. They have suggested making better the conditions of multigrade classes for the question of ``According to your opinions what is the alternative constitution instead of multigrade classes.??Teacher candidates? opinions about ``Instruction in Multigrade Classes?? course is ``throughout this course they should be trained in multigrade classes in rural areas to observe students and teachers.?? According to teacher candidates, multigrade teachers aren?t successful applying appropriate methods and techniques for multigrade classes.The researcher has commented according to data and reached some results in results section of this research. Lastly, demanding on these results the researcher has given some suggestions.
