Evaluation of Turkish language teaching adequacy of the pre-service teachers

Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research evaluation of Turkish language teaching adequacy of the pre-service teachers and to identify the cahange in the opinions of pre-service teachers about their adequacies on teaching Turkish language according to their average academic achievements, average number of books read in a year and willingly locate in the elementary teacher education teaching program. Research was conducted with 374 senior students at Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Elementary Teacher Education. Research data was obtained with "Turkish Teaching Efficacy Scale" that developed by the researchers. Expert opinions were taken for the structure and content validity of the scale. After the preliminary application, the reliability of the scale was found to be 0.98. In the data analysis; percentage,standard deviation, t-test, non-parametric Kruskal Wallis-H test and Tukey test were used. In the end of this research pre-service teachers have found themselves as "good" sufficient in adequacy of Turkish teaching. Although there were not significant differences between pre-service teacher's Turkish language teaching adequacies and their average academic achievements, there were significant differences in pre-service teacher's Turkish language teaching adequacies with average number of books read in a year and whether willingly to choose the elementary teacher education program.
