Sogd-Turkish relations (V-VIII centuries)

From the Antiquity to the Early Middle Ages, the Sogdians, with the Transoxiana geography as the center, had built a prosperous society based on agricultural production and trade, and a highly suicidal administration system. In the III and IV centuries, under the auspices of the Huns, the Turkic Khaganate and the Akhuns, they expanded their commercial and cultural influence to the Byzantine Empire in the West and the Chinese palace in the East. The Sogdians, who formed trade colonies with active markets in the North China area with the colonization method, became the main commodity and culture carrier between east and west through the Silk Road caravan trade. While they carried the Turkish-Sogdian cultural understanding and tastes to China, they brought Chinese silk to the Western world via Byzantium. The Sogdians, who did not establish a state, brought the Silk Road to its heyday in the early Middle Ages under the auspices of the Central Asian Turkish states. In this study. Sogdian period sources that have not been the subject of Turkish history before, commercial and private letters produced by Sogdian merchants, Sogdian documents bearing the quality of state archives, Sogdian inscriptions, manuscripts, trade permits proving the trade carried out by Sogdian merchants in China and other regions, murmur biographies, Based on various documents or inscriptions such as sales contracts and caravan bills of lading, with an ethno-linguistic methodological approach, the historical processes, commercial activities of the Sogdians under the auspices of the Hun and Turkish Khanate, the cultural elements they produced, their political and social orders, trade networks with very fine capillary patterns and commercial methods, the nature of the cultural change they cause through commodity exchange will be explained primarily within the framework of Sogdian-Turkish relations and the role played by the Sogdians in the Asian Turkish states.
