Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to determine resistance level of four different Cotton Whitefly Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) populations to some insecticides in Söke, Aydın province in 2014. In this study, LC values of the most widely used active ingredient in Söke, pyriproxyfen and buprofezine for nymph stage and acetamiprid and bifenthrin for adult stage of the pest were calculated with using leaf dipping method. Furthermore, biochemical studies have also been conducted to determine the resistance mechanisms of mentioned active ingredient. The calculated LC50 values of four different whitefly populations were 37.51, 28.22, 52.12, 75,61 ppm for acetamiprid, 2.72, 4.39, 1.08, 1.89 ppm for bifenthrin, 30.95, 29.05, 46.46, 25.95 ppm for buprofezin and 38.85, 76.06, 108.91, 34.15 ppm for pyriproxyfen, respectively. Also, the total esterase values for four different populations detected and it is detected that there was no significant difference in the levels of the enzyme. In the study, the beginning of toxicty values of the pest against the mentioned active ingredient instead of the resistance level could only be determined because of the sustainable whitefly population cannot be provided from the abroad. However, the LC values of some active ingredient were compared with another study which was used same methods with sustainable whitefly population. The results suggested that it is possible to state the Cotton Whitefly populations of Söke developed the initial level of resistance against these active ingredient.
