Özet (EN)
Boron carbide powder is produced by using the sol-gel method. Boric acid as the boron source for this method, as the carbon source PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) was used. Respectively, drying and calcinations were carried out. The samples calcined at 1400°C in air furnace (muffle furnace) were sintered under. Besides 1550°C in controlled atmosphere was sintered in an argon gas atmosphere and allowed to 3 hours. Carbon source PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) and boron source is boric acid mixture sprepared (at 80°C for 30 minutes). Drying (at 120°C for 6 hours) and sintering (800°C for 2 hours and 1400°C for 1 hour) were performed. The product obtained after sintering XRD (X-ray diffraction), SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) and EDX analysis were applied. In addition, sintering time and the effect of temperature on the purity of the produced products light was also investigated.
