Abstract (EN)

IX ABSTRACT Name of the research: "Solfa Teaching Methods" Name of the researcher: Özlem Özaltunoğlu This research aims that candidates of teacher in institutions training music teachers can gain their own musical formations and that they are educated with a certain "solfa teaching method" so that they can apply the solfa training they have received in their career, most productively. Solfa teaching is of great importance for the fact that it is a preparation period for instrument and vocal training and for it improves musical thinking. A solfa training that is not applied through a certain system contributes the individual nothing exept for just wasting time singing notes without an aim. The solfa teaching in the institutions training music teachers is crucial either in trianing music teachers or in music teaching in primary schools and high schools where the music teachers trained will work. In this work literary research and method of qualitative research has been used. In analyzing the data, method of descriptive analysis has been used. At the end of research, it is concluded that in our country, in the institutions teaching music, solfa teaching methods are not known and not applied; the methods that is used to be in solfa teaching starts with movable do but after the students can think of degreees of scale in accordance with their functions in a certain key and this method must continue with fixed do.
