Özet (EN)

The Intensive care units (ICU) are multidisciplinary work units that `patients with life-threatening illness, major surgery, respiratory failure, coma, haemodynamic insufficiency, or multiple organ system failure? hospitalized for diagnosis and treatment . We aimed to explore patterns of pathogens which is the agent of infection in hospitalized patients with respiratory intensive care unit and antibiotic resistance in this study .The culture antibiogram results and clinical data were retrospectively analyzed in patients with reproductive materials of culture, between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2010 in this study. The 248 patients and their 561results of culture were included in this study.Culture of isolated samples were consisted of 336 (59.9%) blood culture, 104 (18.6%) deep tracheal aspirate culture, 89 (15.9%) urine culture, 12 (2.1%) wound flow culture, 10 (1.8%) sputum culture, 7 (1.3%) CVP catheter culture, 1 (0.2%) foley catheter culture, and 1 (0.2%) pleural fluid culture. The most frequently cultivated microorganisms were CoNS (25.3%), Acinetobacter (23.1%) and E. coli (12.6%) respectively at study time interval .In conclusion, the resistance profile of microorganisms were showed a similar percentage with past studies. The data of this study provides important clues for selection of empiric antibiotic therapy in respiratory intensive care units.Key words: respiratory intensive care unit, intensive care infections, antibiotic resistance, antibiotic susceptibility
