The ulema of Harput (Elazig) and Dersim (Tunceli) in the last century

Numerous advantages that the societies based upon the power of knowledge experience force developing countries and those aware of leaving behind to be interested in this field rapidly. These societies, while revising educational experiences, oblige themselves to be involved in certain activities such as dealing in historical process, comprehending the current level, and comparing it with the advanced one. The efforts to understand the educational system of Ottoman Empire that has a great history before Turkish Republic will be beneficial to measure both the comparison with present educational level and the level reached so far. I aim at contribution to local historical studies and those related to the educational and cultural lives of the region through 'Late Period Ottoman Harput(Elazığ) and Dersim(Tunceli) Ulama' that I have chosen for the subject of my Master Thesis.
