Abstract (EN)
This research was carried out to examine social studies textbooks in terms of earthquake education. The research was prepared according to the case study model, one of the qualitative research designs. The data source of the research consisted of 4th, 5th and 7th grade social studies textbooks taught in schools in the 2022-2023 academic year. Descriptive analysis was used in the analysis of the data collected by the document analysis technique. Social studies textbooks were examined on the basis of the rubric developed by İçme and Büyük, which consists of four themes: content design, educational, visual and assessment and evaluation design. As a result of the research, the content related to earthquake education included in social studies textbooks; It has been determined that there are some deficiencies in terms of scope design, educational, visual and assessment and evaluation designs. Within the scope of the results of the research, various suggestions were presented to eliminate the deficiencies identified in the social studies textbooks regarding earthquake education.
