Biography teaching in social studies lesson; The analysis of (Atatük's life) articles and a new design

In this research, articles of 'Atatiirk's Life' taking place in Primary School books of 3. class 'Life Knowledge', 5. class 'Social Sciences' and 8. class 'Turkish Republic Innovations and Kemalism' have been tried to be proved whether being suitable to the level of the students or not on the basis of biography teaching. The aim of the research; is to reveal the positive and negative sides of biography teaching in Social Sciences Lesson and to bring the level of 'Atatiirk's Life' article to the level of the students. The research, being applied survey modal, embodies a structure which is based on a design applied by data interviews. In this direction an interview was formed for each problem underlying. These interviews were applied to the students in classes of 3/A, 5/A, 8/A of Fevzi Atlıoğlu Primary School located in Keçiören, district of Ankara and to 33 Class Teachers and 17 Social Lesson Teachers appointed to the Primary Schools in the area. Basing these interviews, 'Atatiirk's Life' article has been designed seperately for the classes 3, 5 and 8 of Primary School. While designing; It has been given a great sensibility to the suitability for the level and for meeting the needs and expectations of the students and at the same time for eliminating the trouble points of the teachers and to include the suggestions of the teachers. As a consequence of the research; The subject of 'Atatiirk's Life' will have a better understanding, taking into account of the students level and by giving priority to their needs and expectations and consulting to the views of the teachers.
