Evaluation of value analysis method and vignette technique of value education in social studies course

In the research, it was aimed to evaluate the value analysis method and the vignette technique of value teaching in the Social Studies lesson. For this purpose, a study was conducted on the values of freedom, patriotism, solidarity and independence included in the program. The research was conducted with a case study pattern. The study group of the research consists of 30 students in total from 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades. The students' opinions about freedom, patriotism, solidarity and independence were used as a data source. Opinions about these values were subjected to descriptive analysis. Later, these views were tried to be shown by dividing them into categories and codes under the themes. In the research, common views such as the flag, the National Anthem, free living, the National Struggle, and Mustafa Kemal were reached. As a result of the research, it was seen that the students participating in the study developed positive attitudes towards the values of freedom, patriotism, solidarity and independence and adopted these values.
