Every society that has been established or existed in the past; by educating individuals in the best way, they want them to adapt to the society and to be citizens who can contribute to that society. The most important way to accomplish this is undoubtedly education. Education; protects the legacy from the past and transfer it to the next generations, and develop the country in which the individual is more sensitive to the problems that arise in the society and find solutions that are appropriate for the problems. The social studies course that can reach these goals; It is one of the courses which has an important role in transfering of cultural heritage (raising the cultural heritage), educating individuals who are responsible for their environment and their homeland , individuals who have questions and questions against problems. One of the most important lesson tools needed in social studies course are the maps. In the social studies course, maps embody abstract issues, facilitate learning, increase permanence and facilitate the teacher during the course. In this context, it is the purpose of the research to reveal the position of students on the map information they have learned in social studies course .For this purpose in the research, with the achievement tests of ''Positioning Success test on the Map'' and '' Visual Reading Test'' in 2018-2019 academic year, 504 secondary school students were reached in Nevsehir in order to reveal the positioning situations on the map of the 8th grade students who have gained the social studies course for four years. In this context, quantitative research method was used in the research. In the success test applied to students, stratified sampling was used from random sampling methods. In the study, 8th grade students' positioning status scores on the map; gender, mother education status, father education status, interest in the visual arts course, the purpose of using the computer, the situations of taking the optional intelligence games, the location of the school and the visual reading test whether a significant difference according to the status of success was examined. The data obtained from the study were processed with SPSS 23 and Microsoft Excel program and interpreted according to t-Test, Correlation, Cerebral Analysis and One Way Anova results. In the light of the data obtained in the research, the position of the students on the information they have learned in the social studies for map positioning is in the middle level. At the same time the sub-variables created in the research; There was no significant difference between male and female students according to gender variable. According to the educational status of parents; Those with educational status license have been more successful than other categories. It is seen that there is a significant difference according to whether or not to take an optional intelligence game courses. The students who take optional intelligence game courses are more succesfull than the students who did not take. There is no significant difference in interest of visual arts course, computer usage status and the locality variable. In the test of''Positioning Success test on the Map'',while the students have the highest achievement in the 7th question in which students were asked to show the region where they live , they have the lowest achievement in the 32th question they show ''the position of the atlantic ocean''. It should be ensured that the students who take social studies education for four years in the globalized world can make more use of the maps and realize the location of the province, region, country.
