Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the geography topics in social studies curriculum and textbooks in the context of national identity and to reach findings regarding this issue in the textbooks. Qualitative research method was preferred while conducting the study. Research data were obtained from social studies curriculum and textbooks, which are primary sources. For this purpose, the document review method was used. It is anticipated that this study will bring a different perspective to social studies teaching in terms of the relationship between geography and national identity. It is aimed that all of the research conducted here will guide social studies teachers. In addition, it is thought that the studies on Turkish identity in geography subjects in the social studies course will provide a better understanding. It is expected that it will be considered as a criterion to what extent concepts related to national identity are included in geography subjects in social studies curriculum and textbooks.
