Abstract (EN)

Objective: In this study, it was aimed to examine the questioning skills of social studies teacher candidates according to their opinions. In this direction, the pre-service teachers' inquary skills, factors affecting inquary skills, characteristics of individuals with inquary skills, and the problems they face during the questioning process were examined in an individual, educational and social perspective. Method: Qualitative research method was used since the main purpose of the study was to determine the opinions of prospective social studies teachers about questioning skills. In this direction, the data obtained by using semi-structured interview technique was interpreted with descriptive analysis and content analysis in order to determine the opinions of prospective teachers. Working Group: Purposeful sampling and criterion sampling methods were used to determine the study group. The study group of our study was Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University Faculty of Education; Social Studies Teacher Education consists of 23 volunteer teacher candidates including 12 girls and 11 boys. Conclusion: According to the findings; It was seen that pre-service teachers had positive opinions about inquiry skills in general but faced some problems in gaining and developing inquary skills. In addition, it was determined that inquiry skills contribute to teaching skills and what the teachers can do to gain inquiry skills in the lessons.
