Determination of the views of social studies teachers and secondary school students on concept teaching

Concepts form the cornerstones of thought. The individual will tell the world in terms of concepts. Concepts are principles that organize and integrate a lot of information within a topic. It is about the right and proper learning of the concepts of the healthy realization of Education. History, Geography, Economics, citizenship, sociology, etc. we will not be able to understand the community we live in from having the computer of the main concepts belonging to their fields. It is necessary for Primary School students to be able to learn the main students of the social studies course, which has an important place in terms of concept richness, and to know the basic concepts for the social problems they will face very well. The concepts allow students at the elementary level to have basic schemas in their minds and to have new information in a meaningful way. This research has been prepared to examine the views of Social Studies teachers and secondary school teachers regarding concept education. It was designed with mature science (phenomonology) design from NITEL research designs. The group of the research study included 50 social studies teachers and 75 (6.7.8) who worked in three different districts (Çankaya, Mamak, Yenimahalle) in Ankara province. class) was created secondary school student. The sample was selected by the appropriate sampling method. The form of looking as if it was semi-made was used as a data collection tool. The imaging form created for the purpose of obtaining the information was applied to teachers and students. The teacher vision form was composed of two parts, the first part contained personal information, and the second part contained 10 open-ended questions. In the first part of the student vision form, personal information and in the Second Part, 6 open-ended questions were included. Descriptive analysis technique was used in the analysis given. The main objective of the descriptive analysis technique is to present the findings in a ready to read and abstract form. The concept map and the mind map of the concept teaching techniques have been found to be the most preferred in education, as social studies teachers view concept learning as important in terms of Social Studies Lesson. In the teaching of the concepts of teachers, especially abstract, historical concepts, strong shots and the result of thinking that these concepts are more difficult to learn has been reached. It has been found that the reason for the strong experience of these concepts is that the students are not able to think abstractly enough due to being in concrete processes period, the concepts are not suitable for student level, lack of prior knowledge and many of their concepts are not related to daily life. The concept map is the most widely used technique in the social studies course, the middle school teachers stated that they had difficulties in the learning of the concepts of last name and history. The most common problems that students face in concept education are the lack of materials, the existence of soyat concepts, the lack of prior knowledge, the fact that their concepts are above their complex order, and the lack of course time. While the search result determined that it was important to take advantage of concept teaching techniques to overcome these problems, it made suggestions such as the use of material for the embodiment of surname concepts and the use of abundant samples.
