Abstract (EN)

In this research, it is aimed to evaluate the knowledge levels of social studies teachers towards brain based and their constructivist teaching approaches. For this purpose, the method of the research was structured in a survey design, which is one of the quantitative research methods. The sample of the research consists of 106 social studies teachers working in Izmir in the 2021-2022 academic year. In the study,"Personal Information Form" developed by the researcher, "Constructivist Learning Environment Scale" (CLES) developed by Tenenbaum et al. (2001) and adapted by Fer and Cırık, and "Brain Awareness Test" (BAT) developed by Canbulat and Kırıktaş (2016) were used as data collection tools. The data of the research were obtained in written and online form, transferred to the online environment, analyzed and interpreted. In the research findings, it has been determined that the social studies teacher's knowledge levels and constructivist teaching approaches towards brain-based learning are at a moderate level. The results obtained from the research were interpreted in the light of the literature and suggestions were developed.
