Examination of the interactive (Smart) board use skills of social studies teachers in terms of various variables

The different innovations in technology are used in educational environments. These innovations which transferred to educational environments are applied in development of educational programs, renewal of educational resources, reorganization of classroom environments and the constant training of teachers. Considering these reasons, it is important to examine the interactive (smart) board use skills of Social Studies teachers. Considering these reasons we think that the researching of smart board's using skills by teachers of social studies has importance of study. The aim of the research is to determine the using smart board's skills by teachers of social studies effectively or not and to find solutions of problems expressed through the feedback and to propose more effective ways of using use of interactive (smart) board. The research was conducted in Erzurum central districts (Yakutiye, Aziziye and Palandöken) with the ideas of Social Studies teachers. Interactive (smart) board use skills of social studies teachers various variables (gender, age, level of education, learning to use smart board, teaching profession service time, institution, etc.) examined and interpreted in terms of a conclusion has been reached. The conclusion of researching smart board skills by teachers of social studies has been reached by the details like gender, age, level of education, the ability of using smart board, the experience of teaching assistant, institution, etc. In this study, the data obtained from the "determining teacher's views on smart board use survey" were coded in accordance with the statistical program and analyzed with SPSS 24.0 package program. P>0.05 significance value was taken into consideration by means of parametric (independent samples t-test, one-way ANOVA) tests. As a result, it was concluded that social studies teachers ' interactive (smart) board use skills were at a normal level. As a result the research shows us that the using of interactive board by teachers of social studies has standard level.
