As a result of the constructivist approach that has been based on education in Turkey since 2005, a student-centered, multi-perspective and environmental interaction has been based on an educational training system. The social studies curriculum was also designed to ensure the permanence of learning and develop high-level thinking skills, taking into account these principles, and the focus of the program was on students. This issue also has an important place in the extracurricular activities in which students actively participate in educational activities and participate in the center. Through extracurricular learning activities, students come to a conclusion by going outside the classroom walls or school building; by doing and living, researching and examining and synthesizing existing knowledge, and they have gained many skills. Students should have knowledge, skills and awareness in their teachers, who are in the position of a guide to extracurricular learning activities that have many contributions. In this context, the research aims to determine the awareness States, cognitive structures and application states of social studies teachers and teacher candidates for out-of-school learning. The research was conducted using a phenomenon pattern from qualitative research methods. Data was collected using a semi-structured interview form and subjected to content analysis. In the study group of the research in the academic year 2020-2021, the Ministry of Education who work in secondary schools in the Central District of Kırşehir 20 Kırşehir Ahi Evran University in the academic year 2020-2021 teacher and Social Studies, Faculty of Education, Department of teacher candidates who are studying in social studies education consisted of 20 seniors. According to the data obtained as a result of the research, what it means for teachers and teacher candidates learning outside of school in general, they have awareness of its contribution to the course and students at the same time, in social studies that can be used out-of-school learning environments in which they are located located in the town with out-of-school learning environments in the program and can give examples of out-of-school learning activities were informed that was advised. In general, the teachers involved in the study included out-of-school learning activities in their courses and expressed the contribution they made to the students, while some teachers stated that they faced many problems in the implementation process, such as legal actions, Time shortages. Some of the teacher candidates stated that they did not participate in out-of-school learning activities in undergraduate education processes, while those who participated stated that they made many contributions to themselves. Candidates have stated that when they start their professional life, they will participate in out-of-school learning activities when the necessary conditions are met.
