Examination of the relationship between the anxiety of outlooking features and eating attitudies by means of gender perspectives

The goal of this research was to examine the relation of social appearance anxiety with eating attitudes in terms of gender. The sample group of the study consisted of 446 individuals over 18 years of age. The participation in the study is voluntary. Sociodemographic Information Form, Eating Attitude Test and Social Appearance Questionnaire were applied in the research. SPSS for Windows 21.0 program was used for analysis of research data. As a result of this research, it was seen that there were no gender differences in terms of the relation between eating attitudes and social anxiety. Not any deterioration was observed in the eating attitudes of women with high social appearance anxiety in comparison with men. Single women are seen to have more social appearance anxiety than women who are married or divorced. It is evaluated that women between the ages of 18-29 have more social appearance anxiety than women between the ages of 30-39 and women between the ages of 30-39 have more social appearance anxiety than women aged 40 or over. Findings are compared with current publications.
