A bibliometric analysis of organizational behavior concepts in the social work literature

This study examines how organizational behavior concepts have been addressed in the field of social work by combining bibliometric and content analysis approaches. The research reveals the main themes, theoretical orientations, and historical development of studies focusing on organizational behavior in social work contexts. The findings show that topics such as leadership, motivation, burnout, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment have gained a central position in the social work literature, indicating an increasing interest in the organizational and psychological dimensions of professional practice. Over time, the field has evolved toward an interdisciplinary orientation that connects social work more closely with management and behavioral sciences. However, conceptual gaps remain regarding issues such as employee well-being, organizational justice, and the impact of digital transformation on social service organizations. Overall, this study provides a comprehensive perspective on the development of organizational behavior research within social work and offers a guiding framework for future studies aiming to strengthen the theoretical and practical connections between the two disciplines.
