Abstract (EN)
Purpose: The purpose of this study evaluates view and opinions about dual relationships of academicians who work department of social work in Central Anatolia Region, Marmara Region and Manisa Celal Bayar University. Materials and Methods: By using relational screening method; The view and opinions of 172 academicians who work full time at 14 universities are evaluated. about possible dual relationships between former and current students. A structured questionnaire within the scope of literature was used as a data collection tool. The survey was conducted online and between June and November 2018. SPSS package program was used for statistical analysis. The reliability of the questionnaire was measured with Cronbach Alpha coefficient. Likert type were used in the questionnaire. Chi-Square (χ2) test was used in the analysis of comparative findings Findings: None of academicians who work department of social work stated a negative opinions on making academic studies with their former students. while 90% of academicians to experience emotional relationship with current students, 89.2% of academicians to speak slang next to their students, 89% of academicians to employ students for nonoccupational job evaluate unethical; 78.8% of academicians to give personal phone numbers to their former students and 80% of them to employ for occupational job to current students evaluate appropriate in terms of ethic. It has been found that there is a significant difference between the academicians' acceptance roles of therapist and emotional partner in terms of gender. Result: The attitudes about dual relationships of the academicians who are role-model towards their students with their knowledge, experiences and behaviours have a significant impact on the training of social workers who will work with disadvantaged groups of the society. For this reason, the determination and correct management of the dual relationships which have potential risks in the academic environment directly affect the future and reputation of the social work profession.
