Abstract (EN)
The research was carried out with the aim of examining the effect of online shopping addiction of university students on the economic indicators of students in detail from a social work perspective. While the population of the research consists of university students attending undergraduate programs in Turkey, the sample is 385 students. Two data collection tools were used. The first of these is the "Online Compulsive Buying Scale", while the second is the questions prepared by the researcher to measure the sociodemographic status, shopping preferences and internet usage habits of the participants. Research data were collected through the "Google survey". A total of 394 students were provided with a simple random method through social media. The collected data were analyzed in the SPSS 15.0 package program. "Mann Whitney U" and "Kruskal-Wallis H" tests were used to evaluate the findings.Considering the main findings, it is seen that 70.6% of university students are in economic deprivation, 18.8% of students have symptoms of online shopping addiction, and 4.4% allocate 75% to 100% of their income to online shopping. determination has been reached. According to the changing market conditions of our country, the financial opportunities provided to the students are insufficient to overcome the economic deprivation of the students and new policy proposals are needed in this area; it was concluded that professional studies on online shopping addiction should be planned with university students.
