Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to examine the effects of social media jealousy and basic psychological needs satisfaction in romantic relationships on perceived romantic relationship quality. In addition, the relationships between social media jealousy, basic psychological needs satisfaction in romantic relationships and perceived romantic relationship quality were determined and it was examined whether these variables differed according to demographic characteristics. The sample of the study consisted of 406 adults aged 18 and over. Of the participants, 230 (56.7%) were women and 176 (43.3%) were men. The relational screening model and mediator variable model were used in the study. The 'Sociodemographic and Personal Information Form', 'Social Media Jealousy in Romantic Relationships Scale', 'Perceived Romantic Relationship Quality Scale', 'Basic Psychological Needs Satisfaction in Romantic Relationships Scale' were used as data collection tools. Independent Sample T-Test, ANOVA, Kruskal Wallis H and Pearson Correlation Technique were used in the analysis of the data. The findings indicated that the satisfaction of basic psychological needs was a significant predictor of perceived romantic relationship quality, with social media jealousy serving as a mediating variable in this association.
