Abstract (EN)

Since social media has started to take place intensely in people's daily life, a number of changes have occurred in both individual behavior and social relations, and the effects of social media have manifested itself in almost every area. It is possible that social media, which is affected from interpersonal relations to social movements, will also affect the political attitudes and behaviors of people. Social media, which have increased in use in recent years and are used not only by individuals but also by state institutions, universities, trademarks, municipalities, political parties and politicians, and are preferred by all parties participating in the political elections as a political propaganda field at least as much as traditional media tools Given the rate of use, it is worth examining and seems to be associated with individuals' behaviors of political participation. In this study, which investigated whether the effect of social media on Generation Z individuals born in 2000 and after includes political participation behavior, the data obtained from the questionnaire questions sent to Generation Z individuals via online media were analyzed and it was determined that the relationship between them was at a limited level.
