Abstract (EN)
While Social Media reflects positively on social peace, it can sometimes create social crises negatively. One of the factors that create social inner peace is the social acceptance of immigrants. With the outbreak of the Syrian civil war in 2011, Syrian migrants preferred to take shelter in Turkey intensively. With the prolongation of the war and the transformation of temporary visitation into permanent guest, marginalization and sometimes hostile attitudes towards migrants were observed on a micro-scale and locally. This study analyzes social media users clustered on Twitter Turkey and built on hate speech against Syrian migrants. In the study, the topics of hate speech against Syrian migrants of users who use hate speech on Twitter and the accounts and tones of hashtags and mentions in which hate speech is most often processed were examined. In the research, the quantitative research method was used to collect primary and secondary data, and the content analysis method was preferred to collect information about social media users with hate speech on Twitter and to evaluate the perception and perspective of these users. Even on the dates of the Idlib attacks and the Afrin operation, which are the days when the Syrian agenda is discussed most intensely, Twitter corresponds to only 2.02% of Turkey's agenda. The findings of our study showed the fact that although the Syrian agenda on Twitter has a low rate and is not on the agenda of the Turkish people, users are concentrated and effective enough to set the agenda.
