Abstract (EN)

The research is all-important in terms of determining the messages given by the cartoons on television, which is the most powerful mass media, through the relationship of friendship in the context of social learning theory and contributing to the related literature about the friendship in cartoons. For this purpose, in this study, it was tried to be evaluated the messages given in cartoons in terms of the friendship relations. The research was conducted with document analysis pattern. The cartoons named Gravity Falls (Esrarengiz Kasaba), Winx Club, Soft-boiled Crew (Rafadan Tayfa), Gumball, Super Wings (Harika Kanatlar), Heidi were selected based on the 7th graders and used as a research resource. These cartoons were subjected to descriptive and content analysis; they were recorded by coding, then these codes were grouped among themselves. In this study, the messages especially ones about cooperation, anger, problem, courtesy, trust, flirting, rule, disdain, protection, lie, discipline and joking were explicated. According to the research, it was seen that the messages given were mostly positive. Along with positive messages; some negative messages were also encountered. In order to minimize these problems, families should follow their children' television viewing situations and cartoons should be filtered.
