Abstract (EN)
Poverty is still one of the most important social problems of today, even though significant improvements have been made in people's living conditions. Although different approaches have been developed to combat this problem, the aim of this study is to examine the indirect effects of social transfer expenditures which is one of the most important tools of the direct approach, through human capital accumulation in the fight against poverty. For this purpose, the theoretical framework of the concepts of poverty and human capital and their relationship with each other are discussed in detail. In this context, Independent Two Sample T-test, Ordinary Least Squares method and Two-Stage Least Squares method are used to analyze the impact of social transfer expenditures for poor households on human capital accumulation in Turkey in 2010-2019.
