Abstract (EN)
This study aims to build a model for Computer Engineering Undergraduate Programs through Distance Education. During the building phase of the model, two basic theories are used, i.e. (1) Socio-Technical Theory and (2) Flexible Learning Approach. Socio-Technical Theory focuses on the design of systems that consists of social and technical aspects. Flexible Learning Approach, on the other hand, focuses on the phases of flexible design through distance education. In this study, the opinions of experts in the fields of Distance Education, Engineering Education and Distance Computer Engineering Education are taken during the model building process for Distance Computer Engineering Undergraduate Education. Accordingly, this study is structured as a qualitative case study. In the study, firstly, a theoretical matrix based on theoretical frame is formulated and semi-structured interviews are done with the questions generated from the theoretical matrix. Next, with the data received from individual interviews, a checklist is created; and after a focus group discussion of experts, this checklist is transformed into a model. During the process of transforming the model proposal into a model, the experts? opinions are taken via individual interviews. At the end of the study, the model, which was built for Distance Computer Engineering Undergraduate Education, is formulated on four dimensions on the horizontal plane, namely pedagogy, technology, assessment and management; on the ground plane and on technical and social dimensions on the vertical plane. This developed model is expected to play a guiding role for institutions and experts during the phases of design and implementation of Distance Computer Engineering Undergraduate Education.
