Abstract (EN)
Phubbing behavior, which is defined as being busy with the phone during face-to-face communication, is one of the problems that arise with the widespread use of smartphones. This behavior, which is encountered in different social environments and has a sociological dimension, is associated with various types of addiction. Digital burnout, on the other hand, is defined as the state of fatigue and exhaustion resulting from overexposure to technology. The aim of this study is to examine the addiction factors associated with phubbing behavior and its relationship with digital burnout. In the study, which was designed with the quantitative data collection method, data were collected from 1050 students and the data were analyzed with techniques such as General Linear Model, regression and MANOVA. According to the research results; Smartphone addiction, internet addiction, social media addiction, and SMS addiction are associated with phubbing behavior. On the other hand, the relationship between game addiction and phubbing is negative. It is seen that the most important factor affecting phubbing behavior is smartphone addiction. Phubbing behavior has a significant and positive relationship with digital burnout. Phubbing has a positive effect on each of the sub-dimensions of digital burnout, which are; digital exhaustion, digital deprivation, and digital aging. When the relationships between these variables and other variables in the research hypotheses were examined, significant results were found at different levels.
