Abstract (EN)

In this thesis titled 'Reality in Abstract Sculpture', the form of artistic expression considered as 'abstract sculpture ' is examined in the context of the concepts of 'real and reality'. One of the most important phenomena in our lives is our understanding of reality. Reality changes and transforms from era to era, from culture to culture, as well as depending on the subjective judgments of the individual. Our conception of reality constantly accompanies us in perceiving and making sense of things throughout our lives. When we look at an object, what we are actually interested in is not only its form in the external world. Reality lies behind and beyond what happens in the external world. The understanding of reality has been intertwined with art since the existence of mankind and has been reflected in different ways. Abstract art moves away from the external appearance of objects, presents us reality in simplicity, this reality is not a reflection of the outside world. Abstract sculpture has a different dimension of reality that reflects the artist's emotions, thoughts and aesthetic pursuit rather than copying appearances, independent of traditional sculpture conceptions. Abstract sculpture, which can also be considered as a kind of confrontation with known reality, offers the viewer a reality in which the artist is active in his/her unique and subjective inner world.
