Abstract (EN)

In order to develop cost efficient and light-weight coating technologies with multi-functionality, various methods have been studied for many years, against corrosion. Among these studies, composite type coatings are pronounced to be the most promising material, due to their unique advantages combining organic and inorganic solutions together. Among them, important methods of protecting the surface of metals against corrosion by coating them with composite materials. In this study, the surface of the steel was coated with poly-3-hexylthiophene-zinc oxide (ZnO) composite coating, due to their known physical advantages like barrier property, mechanical strength and compatibility etc. For this purpose, spin coating technique was utilized and the corrosion performance was studied with help of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy technique. Also, the morphological properties and corrosion performance of coating have been interpreted with help of scanning electron microscope.
