Özet (EN)
Objective: The aim of our study was to evaluate the effect of the Inferior Vena Cava Collapsibility Index (IVC-CI) in predicting hypotension after spinal anesthesia. Method: In Dicle University Medical Faculty Hospital; IVC-CI was calculated before the procedure in patients who underwent elective surgical procedures in the supine position and who would undergo spinal anesthesia. The hemodynamic data of the patients were monitored and recorded for 30 minutes after spinal anesthesia. According to these data, the patients were divided into two groups: the group with hypotension (Group 2) and the group without hypotension (Group 1). Results: 40 patients were included in our study. The mean collapsibility index of patients in the group (Group 1) without hypotension was 35.7±15, while the mean collapsibility index of patients in the group (Group 2) with hypotension was 47±11. A statistically significant difference was found between the two groups. (p=0.013) Conclusion: Inferior Vena Cava Collapsibility Index (IVCCI) is a non-invasive measure that can be easily assessed by ultrasound and provides information about intravascular volume status. This study demonstrates that IVCCI is an effective parameter in predicting hypotension after spinal anesthesia and provides clinical benefit in early prediction of hemodynamic changes. The incidence of hypotension was found to be significantly higher in patients with high IVCCI values. Keywords: Spinal anesthesia, Hypotension, Collapsibility index, Vena Cava
