For reducing or even completely eliminate these fears and concernsBefore anesthesia, the initiatives as well as explaining the patient In addition to a number of pharmacological agents are utilized. However, the sedative effect of drugs used for cesarean section for fear of possible depressive effects on the newborn premedication are often neglect this group of patients. The very limited number of studies in the literature on this subject. With this work we have done in our clinic and to help shed light on this issue as well as a daily practice in order to test the applicability of this study was planned. In the study, scheduled for elective cesarean section half of patients with 0.025 mg / kg midazolam, other half of patients 1 mcg / kg fentanyl applied. We evaluated the anxiety scores for mothers APAIS scale and the well-being of newborns with Apgar and Naqsh scales. At the end of the study of patients undergoing fentanyl and midazolam in patients treated with both low anxiety scores found a statistically significant degree. In fact, we found the group which was applied midazolam lower than the fentanyl group. In addition, We have seen that no statistically significant difference between midazolam applied to babies of pregnant women and fentanyl applied to babies of pregnant women. In this study, we conclude that as well as midazolam and fentanyl used other surgical patients scheduled for elective cesarean section can be used safely for the purpose of the premedication.
