The Problem of will on Spinoza and Leibniz's philosophy

ABSTRACTIn this examined work which the point of view on the problem of willof 17 century?s two important philosophers is being determined , the mainresult is ; the concept of will is the main idea for the both systems of thephilosophers. The rationalism -effect of mind power- which is outlined byDescartes in Cartesian, draws the attentions fairly. Thus, in system ofSpinoza and even Leibniz, the effects of rationalism is also perceived.At the meantime, general view of Spinoza?s philosophy is beingexamined, it is cleary seen that ?God? has a important role in his philosophy.The absolute creation is belong to only One , and that one is God obligotory.The system which is based on obligation understanding and explaining ofthe God is important. Because this is the same thing to understanding andexplaining of the universe. So that everything seen on this universe is theappearance or quality of God. To this end , every reason caused by God.Everything comes from the obligation of God. As a result of this , God do notgive the absolute power of free will to this universe. God is the result and thereason of his own. God is created by his own as a self determination , butthis self determination does not mean that he has any independence ondoing whatever he wishes. If the God created everything on a purpose , itwould show that he is a creature with incontompletness. But this is notacceptable for the God.God is the foundation of Leibniz?s Philosophy. According to hisphilosophy there is not only one substance in universe , on the contrary thesubstance is miscellanous. At the top of the hierarchy of Monads ,God is theMonads of Monads. The God , the top one and the perfect one, has createdthe universe in an absolute power of free will. With the absolute power andauthority, God selected the best model of universe inside the eternalpossibilities. There by God is the only one who has power of using free willand selecting.With in the general paradigma of Cartesian , Spinoza and Leibniz careabout God and give the priority to him in their systems ( philosophies). Inthese systems , The God of Spinoza is in accordance with obligation just likeeverthing on universe, and The God of Leibniz has an absolute free will andindependence.
