Özet (EN)
The purpose of this study is to argue the impacts of Machiavelli and Spinoza during the secularization of the politics. In this regard, the philosophy of politics of these two thinkers has been analyzed meticulously. Within the context of the study, we benefited from the works of Machiavelli and Spinoza and from the Turkish- English secondary sources that are written on these two thinkers such as books, articles etc.We placed the two thinkers? interrogations of religious institutes and the authority of clerics, their endeavours for putting an end on the domination of religion over politics, and their ideas that the administration is to be supra-institutional position including religion. It is concluded that - within the context of the thoughts of Machiavelli and Spinoza - politics is a secular (mundane) phenomenon and so ıts rules must be constituted not with the context of the transcendental orders but according to the secular (mundane) facts and necessities.
