A Spinozist horizon: Rosi Braidotti's posthuman theory

In this study, the relationship between Rosi Braidotti's posthuman theory and Baruch Spinoza's philosophy is investigated. First, Braidotti's posthuman theory is discussed. According to Braidotti, the posthuman future should not be defined as a dystopia, but as our current historical situation. Despite all its posthuman contradictions, it is not a final crisis but an affirmative situation. Ethics and politics must be designed by this affirmative situation. In the second section, the ontological, ethical, and political dimensions of Spinoza's philosophy are discussed. Also, the connection of many concepts such as zoe, which Braidotti uses in posthuman theory, with Spinoza is emphasized. The aim is to make the relationship between two philosophers understandable by underlining the Spinozist elements in Braidotti's posthuman theory.
