Abstract (EN)

In this research, it was aimed to reveal the relationship between sports awareness and academic self-confidence of students of the faculty of sports sciences. In this research, the general screening method, one of the quantitative research methods, was used. The population of the study consists of 850 students studying at İnönü University Faculty of Sports Sciences in the 2022-2023 Academic Year. The sample group was determined using power analysis and was selected as 172 students studying in the 2022-2023 academic year. As a data collection tool in the research, the personal information form asked to determine demographic characteristics, the Sports Awareness Scale (SFAS) Scale is a 5-point Likert type and consists of 30 items and 2 sub-dimensions, and the Academic Self-Confidence Scale (AAS) was used. The scale is a 5-point Likert type and consists of 25 items and 2 sub-dimensions. No significant difference could be detected in terms of gender in the variables of sports awareness and academic self-confidence. When the average scores were examined in terms of the age variable, it was determined that the group aged 30 and over and the married group in terms of the marital status variable had the highest scores in terms of sports awareness and academic self-confidence. In terms of the variable of doing sports regularly, no significant difference was detected in the dimensions of sports awareness and academic self-confidence. No significant difference was detected in the dimensions of sports awareness and academic self-confidence in terms of the department variable. It was determined that the average score of the group with a GPA of 3.00-3.50 was higher in terms of the variables of Sports Awareness and Academic Self-Confidence. As a result, a significant difference was detected between sports awareness and academic self-confidence and the GPA variable, but no significant difference was detected between the variables of gender, age, marital status, department and regular sports. In addition, there was a significant difference between sports awareness and academic self-confidence. difference was detected.
